4-Year-Olds

Children in this class must be four years old by September 1, and fully potty trained. This class focuses on kindergarten readiness skills.  Upon completion of this class, the goal is to send him/her directly to Kindergarten.

Parents can choose either a 2, 3, 4, or 5 days/week schedule.  Class meets from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The four-year-old program continues to build on developing self-help, language, and social skills while offering advanced classroom structure and introducing fine motor skills for academic development. Children in this class will be introduced to letter and number formation, correct pencil grip, beginning math skills, and basic science concepts. Color and shape recognition, large motor skills, and language skills will continue to be reinforced and solidified. Many opportunities for development of fine motor skills are provided through cutting, coloring, tracing, letter formation, and art activities. The day provides a balance of large group, small group, independent activities, and free play time. The four-year-old class maintains an average ratio of 15 children to 1 teacher.
