2-Year-Olds

Children in this class must be two years old by September 1.  This class meets from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m on Tuesday & Thursday.

The focus of the two-year-old program is to help children develop the self-help, communication, and social skills necessary to carry them through the preschool program as well as future learning experiences. This class also introduces basic academic skills such as colors, shapes, simple counting, and fine motor skill development through theme-oriented activities. Language and vocabulary is developed through the use of songs, fingerplays, nursery rhymes, stories, and naming objects throughout the day. The children continue to build gross motor and social skills during both indoor and outdoor play time. A balance of structured and unstructured play experiences are provided throughout the day.
