28 Feb From Mrs. Kirk…
February 3, 2019
To the precious families at Messiah,
It is with sincere sorrow that I write to inform you that at the end of this school year, I will be stepping down as principal of MLCA. Sadly, my mother has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and will require much more of my time and hands-on care. Family circumstances at this time require my full attention, and I have important issues to take care of, which leave me unable to continue on in my duties as principal, after the current school year.
It has been a tremendously difficult year for me, personally. I spent the majority of the last year caring for my Uncle, who was hospitalized and passed away, just before Christmas. Caring for him and sharing his final months on this Earth were an enormous blessing. It was an honor to be able to truly be there for him. Sharing his final days brought into focus the importance of family, and it is that realization that brought me to this heart-wrenching decision. My family needs me.
MLCA is my home. You all are my family. I truly believe in every single magnificent person that I have the honor of working with and for. I love MLCA and I believe in the mission and MLCA’s bright future. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for understanding. I have had the most amazing twelve years at this church and school. I will miss spending everyday as your principal. Please know that I will be praying for you all and know with certainty that God will provide for MLCA and is in control.
It is my prayer to be able to continue to be involved at MLCA, just in a smaller capacity. Be warned: you have not seen the last of me! Please feel free to call or email if you have any questions.
